HL Deb 29 July 1936 vol 102 cc323-4

Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.

LORD TEMPLEMORE

My Lords, this Bill, as you are aware, is an annual matter. It comes before your Lordships in order to bring the Customs as passed by the Isle of Man Legislature this year into line with the provisions of the Finance Bill which you passed last week. Your Lordships have already agreed to those provisions in the Finance Act and as an important debate is to take place in the House this afternoon I do not think your Lordships will expect me to keep you at any length in describing the provisions of this Bill. As was done in the case of the last Bill, I would ask your Lordships, if you give this Bill a Second Reading, to negative the Committee stage.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(Lord Templemore.)

On Question, Bill read 2a. Committee negatived.
