Clause 1, page 1, line 8, leave out from ("the") to the end of the line and insert ("business of lending books or periodicals when carried on for purposes of gain")

Clause 1, line 11, leave out from the second ("the") to the end of line 12 and insert ("business of lending books or periodicals when carried on for purposes of gain")

Clause 1, line 16, leave out from ("the") to the end of line 19 and insert ("business of lending books or periodicals is not carried on for purposes of gain other than that of making profit for some philanthropic or charitable object (including any religious or educational object) or for any club or institution which is not itself carried on for purposes of gain.")
