Order of the Day for the consideration of the Commons Message of Tuesday last read.

THE LORD PRIVY SEAL (VISCOUNT HALIFAX)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion that stands in my name.

Moved, That a Committee of seven Lords be appointed to join with the Committee of the House of Commons to consider and report on measures for the better conservation and organisation of water resources and supplies in England and Wales as mentioned in the Commons Message of Tuesday last, and that the Lords following be named of the Committee:

(Viscount Halifax.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

Ordered, That such Committee have power to agree with the Commons in the appointment of a Chairman:

That the Minutes of Evidence of the Joint Committee on Water Resources and Supplies in the last Session: Of Parliament be referred to the Commitee:

Then a Message was ordered to be sent to the Commons to inform them of the appointment of the said Committee by this House and to propose that the Joint Committee do meet in the King's Robing Room on Wednesday next, at a quarter past twelve o'clock.

House adjourned at thirteen minutes before five o'clock.
