HL Deb 23 May 1935 vol 96 c1098

Report from the Special Orders Committee, That they have examined the Amendment as required by the Standing Orders of the House; that they have received and considered a report from the Board of Trade; that in their opinion the Amendment does not raise important questions of policy and principle; that the Amendment is founded on precedent inasmuch as an Order has already been submitted for the approval of Parliament under the Coal Mines Acts, 1930, although of a different character; that in the opinion of the Committee the Amendment can be passed by the House without special attention, subject to any arguments on the merits which may arise in debate, and that no further inquiry is necessary before the House proceeds to a decision on the Resolution approving the said Amendment: Read, and ordered to lie on the Table.
