HL Deb 21 May 1935 vol 96 cc968-9
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, I beg to move the Motion standing in my name. The purpose of it, as your Lordships will remember, is to enable the debate to-morrow on Lord Lloyd's Motion with regard to defence to be taken first, and I understand that that meets with the assent of everyone. I am proposing that the House shall meet at three o'clock to-morrow, in order to afford sufficient time to deal with that matter. If your Lordships will pass the Motion I am now moving we can then proceed to take the Notices standing in the names of the noble Lords to whom my Motion refers.

Moved, That leave be given to advance the Notices standing in the names of the Lord Strachie, the Marquess of Salisbury, the Lord Portsea, and the Lord Rennell, now standing for Wednesday next, to this day.—(Viscount Hailsham.)

LORD PONSONBY OF SHULBREDE

I am much obliged to the noble Viscount for making these arrangements.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and leave given accordingly.
