His Majesty's Answer to the Address of Thursday, March 7, last, reported by the Earl of Shaftesbury as follows:—

"I have received your Address and, relying on the wisdom of my Parliament, I desire that my Prerogative, in so far as it relates to the creation of Peerages, should not stand in the way of the consideration by Parliament of any measure introduced in the present Session on the subject of the limited creation of Life Peerages."
