HL Deb 14 March 1935 vol 96 c150
LORD SNELL

My Lords, are the Government able to snake any statement about the business for next week?

THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, I am much obliged to my noble friend for asking that question. I can tell him that there is a, Bill called the Cattle Industry (Emergency Provisions) Bill which is expected up from another place to-morrow, and there will be a formal sitting of the House to-morrow at four o'clock to give that Bill a First Reading. I understand that the Second Reading of the Bill will be taken on Tuesday. In addition, on Tuesday, there are Lord Kinnoull's Bill, the Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions) Bill, and the Post Office and Telegraph (Money) Bill, both of which are to have a Second Reading. I understand that a Bill introduced today, called the Criminal Lunatics (Scotland) Bill, will also have a Second Reading on that day. On Wednesday, for which day the Motion of the noble Lord, Lord Sanderson, is on the Paper, it is proposed that we shall meet at three o'clock. There are a great number of speakers and it is anticipated that the debate will take two days. There is nothing else on the Paper for Thursday, so it is proposed that Lord Sanderson's Motion shall take up all Wednesday and Thursday.

LORD SNELL

Will the House sit on Thursday at three o'clock as well?

THE EARL OF LUCAN

No, I think that the sitting of Thursday will be at 4.15, because there is a legal sitting as well; but on Wednesday the House will meet at three o'clock.
