HL Deb 29 July 1935 vol 98 c888
THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do now adjourn.

Moved, That this House do now adjourn.—(The Marquess of Londonderry.)

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, in order to avoid any strictures tomorrow, may I say that I am unfortunately presiding judicially in the Privy Council and therefore I shall not be in my place at three o'clock; but I have made arrangements for the Woolsack to be occupied, and I hope to be free at four o'clock. I only say this because I do not wish to run any risk of disapprobation from the Front Opposition Bench.

LORD PONSONBY OF SHULBREDE

My Lords, I am sorry that for the first hour to-morrow we shall be deprived of the presence of the Lord Chancellor, but I must say I think there was no need to call attention to my having made my observations, because I think I was well justified this afternoon.

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at seven minutes before four o'clock.
