HL Deb 23 July 1935 vol 98 c742

Order of the Day for the House to be put into Committee read.

THE EARL OF FEVERSHAM

My Lords, before moving that the House do resolve itself into Committee on this Bill, I should like to make reference to the point raised on the Second Reading by Lord Marley that the proviso of Clause 3 (1) (a) might be abused. I should like to say that in prescribing the forms of records, to be kept under Clause 3 (3), of additional hours worked in pursuance of the proviso, special consideration will be given to the importance of showing, for the information of the inspectors, the precise circumstances in which advantage is taken of the proviso in question. I hope that that will satisfy the noble Lord who raised that point on Second Reading. I beg to move that the House do resolve itself into Committee.

Moved, That the House do now resolve itself into Committee.—(The Earl of Feversham.)

LORD MARLEY

My Lords, I should like to thank the noble Earl for the statement he has made. He was good enough to provide me with the chance of discussing the matter with him, and I am more than pleased with the response which he has given to my request.

On Question, Motion agreed to.

House in Committee accordingly: Bill reported without amendment.
