THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT SANKEY)

My Lords, I beg to move that the Commons Amendment be now considered.

Moved, That the Commons Amendment be now considered.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

COMMONS AMENDMENT.

Clause 1, page 2, line 27, leave out subsection (4).

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, I beg to move that this House do agree with the Commons Amendment. It is a purely formal matter. When the Bill passed through this House your Lordships inserted the usual Privilege Amendment in Clause 1, namely: (4) Nothing in this section shall authorise the expenditure of moneys out of the Consolidated Fund of the United Kingdom or out of moneys provided by Parliament. When the question goes to the House of Commons for that House to vote the necessary supply that provision naturally has to come out, and that is the Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
