§ His Majesty's Reply to the loyal and dutiful Address of the House of Lords, passed yesterday, was delivered by the Earl of Shaftesbury as follows:
§ "I return you my sincere thanks for your loyal and dutiful Address expressing sympathy with Me in the great loss which I have sustained by the death of my beloved sister the Princess Victoria.
§ "It is a source of consolation and comfort to Me in my sorrow to receive this further assurance of your constant and affectionate interest in all that concerns Me and my Family."
