§ THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRYMy Lords, the object of the present Amendment is to make it clear on the face of the Rill that the licensing authority must fix its days for hearing applications for the grant of licences, so as to enable licences to be granted and to take effect on the 1st July, 1935, when it is proposed that the betting year should commence.
