HL Deb 25 July 1934 vol 93 c1118

Order of the Day for the consideration of Commons Amendments read.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR

My Lords, in moving that the Commons Amendments be considered I need not occupy your Lordships' time for more than a very few minutes. What happened was this. A flaw was found in the Solicitors Act under which a limited company could act as solicitors. That made it necessary to amend the Solicitors Act. Your Lordships passed a Bill and it was made to apply to Scotland. It was found in another place that some technical Amendments were necessary to make the application to Scotland effective. I beg to move that the Commons Amendments be now considered.

Moved, That the Commons Amendments be now considered.—(The Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
