HL Deb 19 December 1934 vol 95 c579
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, I beg to move that leave be given to the Lord Ampthill to postpone the Motion standing in his name for this day until after the Motion standing in the name of the Viscount FitzAlan of Derwent. I have put down this Motion with the assent of all parties interested. Your Lordships appreciate that we are sitting a little earlier than usual because of the amount of business that has to be got through, and my noble friend Lord Ampthill is unable to be here at three o'clock, having previously made arrangements to be here at the time he anticipated his Motion would come on, about four o'clock.

Moved, That leave be given to the Lord Ampthill to postpone the Motion standing in his name for this day until after the Motion standing in the name of the Viscount FitzAlan of Derwent.—(Discount Hailsham.)

LORD MARLEY

My Lords, the Opposition were consulted on this and are very much obliged to the Government for their courtesy. We are entirely in agreement with the Motion.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and leave given accordingly.
