HL Deb 30 April 1934 vol 91 cc904-5
THE EARL OF ONSLOW

My Lords, during the last Session your Lordships appointed a Committee to go into the question of Special Orders, consisting of the noble Lords mentioned in the Motion on the Order Paper. I put down as the result of that Committee certain Amendments to the Standing Orders. A certain Government Department wished to raise points in connection therewith and, as the Committee was functus officio, it had to be reconstituted. I consulted all my late colleagues, and I therefore bring this Motion before your Lordships and be to move.

Moved, That a Select Committee be appointed further to consider and report whether any, and if so, what amendment of Standing Order No.212, relative to Special Orders, is desirable, and that the Lords following, with the Chairman of Committees, be named of the Committee:

  • M. Salisbury,
  • E. Lucan,
  • V. Hutchinson (E. Dononghmore),
  • L. Stanmore,
  • L. Marks,
  • L. Marley.
—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
