HL Deb 16 November 1933 vol 89 c429

Clause 72, page 43, line 14, leave out ("on motion, grant a mandamus for the") and insert ("order an").

THE LOR.D CHANCELLOR

My Lords, the effect of this Amendment is to substitute for the words "The High Court may, on motion, grant a mandamus for the election", the words "The High Court may order an election". The Amendment is made because questions of the procedure in the Courts should be left to Rules of Court and not dealt with in a Statute.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The. Lord Chancellor.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
