My Lords, I have to convey to your Lordships the following Message from the King:

"I have received your Address praying that I will give directions for a Memorial Tablet to be erected in the Collegiate Church of Saint Peter, Westminster, to the memory of the late Right Honourable The Earl of Oxford and Asquith, and assuring me that you will concur in giving effect thereto.

"I will gladly give directions for carrying into effect your proposal to do honour to the memory of that eminent statesman and devoted servant of his country."
