HL Deb 16 March 1933 vol 86 c1230
THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, in moving that the House do now adjourn, I should like to mention that I have received information from my noble friends Lord Mount Temple and Lord Phillimore, that they do not propose to move the two Motions relating to Russia which stand in their names on the Order Paper for next Tuesday. They are leaving the Motions on the Paper, but with no day fixed for discussion, for reasons which I think your Lordships will readily appreciate in existing circumstances. That leaves the Motion of my noble friend Lord Askwith with regard to certain rules under the Patents and Designs Act, 1907, as the only business on the Paper for Tuesday, and. I am informed that my noble friend is quite willing to have that matter discussed on Thursday when there is only one Bill down for Second Reading. By that arrangement it becomes unnecessary for your Lordships to meet on Tuesday. The business on the Paper for Wednesday is the Benefices (Purchase of Rights of Patronage) Measure which will be moved by the most rev. Primate and a Motion with regard to unemployment among the agricultural community standing in the name of my noble friend the Earl of Liverpool. I therefore move that the House should adjourn, except for judicial business, until Wednesday.

Moved, That this House do now adjourn, except for judicial business, until Wednesday next.—(Viscount Hailsham.)

House adjourned at twenty-five minutes before seven o'clock.
