HL Deb 14 February 1933 vol 86 c656
LORD PONSONBY OF SHULBREDE

My Lords, perhaps it would be for the convenience of your Lordships if the Leader of the House will tell us whether there will be any business on Thursday, and also if he can say when the London Passenger Transport Bill will be taken.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (VISCOUNT HAILSHAM)

My Lords, so far as I know there is no business down for Thursday and I was therefore proposing to suggest that your Lordships might adjourn on Wednesday till Tuesday of next week. With regard to the London Passenger Transport Bill, I understand that is likely to leave another place tonight, and if it does so it would receive its First Reading in your Lordships' House to-morrow. It is a Bill which I think will take a little time to digest and I was therefore proposing not to ask your Lordships to take the Second Reading until 1st March. That will give a fortnight's interval, which I hope will be sufficient for any who take an interest in the Bill to become acquainted with its contents.
