HL Deb 17 March 1932 vol 83 c941
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, I beg to move that Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the Hove Pier Bill and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Bill. One reason for this is that the other day I put down the Hove Pier Bill for Second Reading, but I was informed by a noble Lord that he wished possibly to raise objections to the Bill on Second Reading, and therefore I asked your Lordships to postpone it. I understand now that the objection has been removed, and nobody wishes to oppose the Second Reading. With regard to the other Bill the reason is the usual one that we had to wait until the Attorney-General's Report was received.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bills, and that the Bills be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and Bills read 2a accordingly.
