HL Deb 03 March 1932 vol 83 c772
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)

My Lords, the reason for this proposal is that the plan of the reservoirs showed land available for future extension to the west of the area which is not proposed to be conveyed, and the land to be conveyed was not sufficient for the construction of the additional reservoir which was advised and for which power to borrow is sought. Now that has been arranged and the Council of the Garden City are prepared to proceed with the Bill. I venture therefore to recommend your Lordships to dispense with this Standing Order.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 105 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bill, and that the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Onslow.)

On Question, Motion agreed to, and Bill read 2a accordingly.
