THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF ONSLOW)My Lords, the reason for this proposal is that the plan of the reservoirs showed land available for future extension to the west of the area which is not proposed to be conveyed, and the land to be conveyed was not sufficient for the construction of the additional reservoir which was advised and for which power to borrow is sought. Now that has been arranged and the Council of the Garden City are prepared to proceed with the Bill. I venture therefore to recommend your Lordships to dispense with this Standing Order.
