§ Clause 53, page 25, line 13, leave out ("confined in prison") and insert ("a prisoner in any prison").
§ THE LORD CHANCELLORThe third Amendment is rather a curious one. Clause 53 reads thus:
No solicitor whilst confined in prison shall act as a solicitor.A lynx-eyed member of the House of Commons, quite rightly, saw that the old Act instead of saying, "No solicitor whilst confined in prison" read: "No solicitor whilst a prisoner in any prison." We have no objection to sticking to the words of the old Act. I move that we agree with that Amendment.
§ Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Lord Chancellor.)
§ On Question, Motion agreed to.
