HL Deb 21 December 1932 vol 86 cc505-6
THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, again on behalf of my noble friend Lord Templemore, I beg to move that the Special Order reported from the Special Orders Committee yesterday be approved with additions.

Moved, That the Special Order, as reported from the Special Orders Committee yesterday, be approved with additions.—(The Earl of Lucan.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.

THE EARL OF LUCAN

My Lords, I now move that the following modifications be approved: Page 9, Clause 21, subsection (3), after the words "added limits," insert the words "and within the Speke area if and when such area becomes part of the limits of supply. Page 14, Clause 29, subsection (3), after the words "preference stock," insert the word "issued. This Order authorises the purchase by the Liverpool Gas Company of the undertaking of the Huyton and Roby Gas Company and extends the limits for the supply of gas by the former company. Objections to the application were lodged by the Liverpool Corporation and the Lancashire County Council, but these were subsequently withdrawn and the Order is now unopposed. No Government grant is involved. The first Amendment is to make it clearer that, if and when the Speke area (as defined in the Order) becomes part of the company's limits of supply, the provisions of their Acts and Orders shall apply within that area. The second Amendment merely corrects a printing error.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.
