HL Deb 29 September 1931 vol 82 c164
LORD MARLEY

My Lords, before the House adjourns, may I say that I understand that the Prime Minister is to make a statement in another place to-morrow at the beginning of business with regard to the course of business during the week? Would it be possible for the noble and learned Marquess to make a similar statement in this House?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (THE MARQUESS OF READING)

My Lords, certainly I will make every attempt to do so. I desire to make one observation before moving the adjournment of the House. I indicated the other day that I propose to move that the Standing Orders be suspended in regard to the National Economy Bill, and I was going to suggest that I am quite prepared that the House should meet at the usual time, if the noble Lord thinks that this is sufficient. Perhaps, however, he thinks we ought to meet earlier. We must get the Bill through.

LORD MARLEY

I understood the suggestion was that we should meet at three o'clock in order to get the Royal Commission through before dinner. I think that will be convenient.

THE MARQUESS OF READING

We will meet at three o'clock to-morrow then, and I will move that we now adjourn till that time.

Moved accordingly, and, on Question, Motion agreed to.

House adjourned at a quarter before eight o'clock.
