Clause 62:

Amendment of ss. 436 and 454 of the principal Act.

62.—(1) In subsection (1) of Section four hundred and thirty-six and in subsection (1) of Section four hundred and fifty-four of the principal Act the expression "freeboard" shall be substituted for the expression "clear side."

THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (EARL STANHOPE) moved to leave out "subsection (1)" ["subsection (1) of Section 436"] and to insert "subsections (1) and (3)." The noble Earl said: My Lords, this Amendment is purely drafting.
