HL Deb 23 June 1931 vol 81 c296
THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

I desire, my Lords, to make a statement with regard to the Order on the Paper, that the Report of Amendments to the Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Bill be received. I had expressed my hope that when the matter was brought forward to-day it would be agreed to and promised that due notice should be given by putting on the Paper the necessary Motion. The noble-Marquess, Lord Reading, knows what has already been done. We have very nearly agreed, but not quite. There is still one point open between us, and therefore I wish to give notice that when the Bill comes on for Report of Amendments, I shall ask for the Bill to be postponed until Thursday, by which time I think arrangements may be made and agreed.
