HL Deb 05 June 1931 vol 81 cc3-4
THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY

My Lords, I do not know whether it is customary at a formal meeting of the House, but I should like to ask the noble Lord whether it is possible for him to give us some indication as to the programme of business which the Government are proposing to put before the House when we next meet.

THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (LORD MARLEY)

My Lords, a certain number of suggestions have been made as to business. On Tuesday, June 9, the business which is proposed will not be very serious. There will be the Second Reading of the Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Bill and the Committee stage of the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Bill. Then there will be the Post Office and Telegraph (Money) Bill, which will be purely formal. If there is any special Bill about which the noble Marquess desires information I will try to give it him.

THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY

I was really asking my question in connection with the Representation of the People (No. 2) Bill. When do the Government propose to take that?

LORD MARLEY

The present suggestion is that that should be taken on Tuesday, June 16.

House adjourned at twelve minutes past twelve o'clock.
