His Majesty's Reply to the loyal and dutiful Address of the House of Lords, passed on Tuesday, January 27, was delivered by the Earl of Cromer as follows:—

"I return you my sincere thanks for your loyal and dutiful Address expressing sympathy with me in the great loss I have sustained by the death of my beloved sister the Princess Royal.

"It affords me great comfort and consolation to be assured of the cordial and sincere feeling which you entertain towards me and the Royal Family, and to be reminded of the warm interest which you take in all that concerns them."
