HL Deb 29 May 1930 vol 77 c1180

Page 1, line 12, leave out the second ("or") and after ("home") insert ("or place").

Page 1, line 14 leave out from ("or") to the end of the subsection and insert ("into the charge as a single patient of a person so approved, and any approval under this section may be granted subject to such conditions as the Board think proper and may be revoked at any time").

EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, the Amendment in line 12 is for the purpose of giving rather more elasticity with regard to the places where voluntary patients may be received. In addition to the words "institution, hospital, or nursing home" you leave out "or" and insert "or place" and then the next Amendment, in line 14, is part of the same process of making it possible to have any other place provided by a voluntary association and not necessarily one answering to the words in the description. I beg to move that this Amendment be agreed to.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Earl Russell.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
