HL Deb 29 May 1930 vol 77 c1191

Page 10, line 7, after ("women") insert ("one member at least of every sub-committee appointed under this section for an institution shall be a woman").

EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, the subsection provides that two members on every visiting committee shall be women, but the visitation of institutions may be carried out by a sub-committee, and the Government consider that it would be consistent with the intention of the clause that there should be at least one woman on any sub-committee. That is the effect of this Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Earl Russell.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
