HL Deb 20 May 1930 vol 77 c864
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, it has reached me through the usual channel that there is a desire on the part of a good many of my noble friends who sit on this side of the House to have a rather longer sitting to-morrow than is usually the case, owing to the importance of the business which is down for consideration, and it is suggested that the Government might be willing to meet as early as three o'clock. I do not know whether this will meet the views of the noble and learned Lord?

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

My Lords, I am much obliged to the noble Marquess for his question. I think it would be advisable to sit to-morrow at three o'clock. There is no judicial business and undoubtedly the discussion is likely to take some time. If this is convenient to the noble Marquess and members on the other side, I will say now that we will meet to-morrow at three o'clock.
