Order of the Day read for the consideration of the Third Report from the Select Committee.

The Committee reported inter alia:

1. RETIREMENT OF THE CLERK OF THE PARLIAMENTS.

The Committee approved the payment to Sir Arthur Thring, K.C.B., of the salary of the Clerk of the Parliaments up to Friday, the 21st of February, 1930, inclusive.

2. REFRESHMEYT DEPARTMENT.

The Committee approved, with the concurrence of the Lord Great Chamberlain, a proposal of the sub-committee on the Refreshment Department that the lobby outside Committee Room C should be used as a smoking room by Counsel and Members of Royal Commissions who take luncheon in the Refreshment Room.
