EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, I beg to move that these Amendments be agreed to.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendments.—(Earl Russell.)

LORD LUKE

My Lords, I should like to take this opportunity of saying that the hospitals accept this as it comes back from the other House. I mean the portion of Clause 36 that refers to die hospitals. I would like to thank the Minister of Transport for allowing a free vote on it in another place.

EARL RUSSELL

My Lords, perhaps I ought to say that the object of these Amendments is to improve the subsection arid make it more applicable in the case of a person who has taken out a security bond or has made a deposit. As it left the House, it was limited to an insurance company. I thank the noble Lord for his kind words, but the Minister of Transport maintained in another place the attitude that I took here, that it was an undesirable provision. We desire, however, to make it workable and it is for that reason I have moved to agree with the Commons in these Amendments.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
