HL Deb 29 January 1930 vol 76 cc348-9
VISCOUNT TEMPLETOWN

My Lords, I rise to ask His Majesty's Government on what date the Report of the Commission appointed to enquire into certain events in Palestine and make recommen- dations concerning them to prevent their recurrence will be published, and whether owing to the seriousness of the situation an early publication can be expected.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR DOMINION AFFAIRS AND THE COLONIES (LORD PASSFIELD)

My Lords, I understand from the Commissioners that they are proceeding with the preparation of their Report with all possible expedition, but that, apart from other factors, the volume of the evidence which they have to take into consideration makes it impossible for them to name at this stage even an approximate date for the presentation of their Report. The noble Lord may rest assured that I fully appreciate the importance of there being no avoidable delay in publication after the Report has received the consideration of His Majesty's Government.

VISCOUNT TEMPLETOWN

My Lords, I beg to thank the noble Lord for his answer.
