HL Deb 12 February 1930 vol 76 cc535-6
EARL BEAUCHAMP

My Lords, I desire to ask the noble and learned Lord the Leader of the House if he can give us any information with regard to business for the next day or two?

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

My Lords, in reply to the noble Earl I may say I had a letter a short time ago, and I understand a communication has been received by the Clerk of Parliaments stating that it is not convenient for the noble Earl, Lord Birkenhead, to move to-morrow the Motion of which he has given Notice [regarding relations with the Soviet.]. Reasons which I quite understand make it difficult for him to be present. I understand that the noble Earl has asked that his Motion should be put down for February 20. I do not think that will affect the Paper for tomorrow in any other way, but I thought your Lordships ought to know that.
