HL Deb 01 August 1930 vol 78 c1206

Clause 48, page 37, line 14, leave out from the beginning ("the expression 'disrepair' includes") to "and" in line 20.

LORD MARLEY

My Lords, the terms of the Amendment of the Commons are to omit the definition of "disrepair," as in the English Bill. One point is to bring the two Bills into line in this matter, and another point is that no definition at all is perhaps better than a definition on which there is disagreement. I beg to move that we agree with the Commons Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(Lord Marley.)

THE MARQUESS OF LINLITHGOW

My Lords, do I understand the noble Lord to say that the effect of this is to bring the English and the Scottish Bills into line?

LORD MARLEY

That is so.

On Question, Motion agreed to.
