HL Deb 29 October 1929 vol 75 c329
THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

My Lords, I desire, with your permission, to ask the noble and learned Lord the Leader of the House, whether he can tell us anything with respect to the business likely to come before your Lordships.

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

My Lords, I thank the noble Marquess for asking me this question, but I can give only a doubtful answer at the present time. I hope that at the beginning of next week, perhaps, I shall be able to give him more certain information. I think the only business on the Paper at the present beyond to-day's is down for Thursday, and that is a Bill dealing with the age of employment of children and the protective measures to be taken under the Employment of Children Act. There are, however, one or two very important Bills which I hope will be taken, and which I think I have arranged shall be taken, first in this House. They will be read a first time next week. I am afraid that this afternoon I cannot give the noble Marquess any further information.

THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURY

May I repeat the question on Tuesday?

LORD PARMOOR

I shall be much obliged if the noble Marquess will do that.
