HL Deb 27 November 1929 vol 75 c693

LORD LAMINGTON had given Notice to ask His Majesty's Government whether it is a fact that the Imam of the Yemen has sent a draft treaty for the consideration of the Government; if it has been sent, whether the proposals will be now communicated; and what is the present position of our relations with the Imam; and to move for Papers. The noble Lord said: My Lords, this morning I received a message saying that the noble Lord, Lord Passfield, could not be here this afternoon, and asking me whether I would postpone the Motion which stands in my name. I therefore beg leave to postpone it until Tuesday of next week, with the concurrence of the Leader of the House.

THE LORD PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (LORD PARMOOR)

Yes, I think that would be convenient. Lord Passfield very much regrets that public duties make it impossible for him to be here to-day. I explained his message as soon as I could to the noble Lord, Lord Lamington, and I hope he has not been inconvenienced.
