HL Deb 22 July 1929 vol 75 c166
LORD PABMOOR

I am afraid I cannot move that the House do adjourn at this moment, because we have to wait for a Bill to come up from the other place, in order to be read a first time. It is a purely formal matter. The responsibility for keeping a House rests with the Government, and no noble Lord need remain here for a formal matter of that kind.

House adjourned during pleasure.

House resumed, the Lord MUIR MACKENZIE on the Woolsack.
