THE MARQUESS OF LONDONDERRY

My Lords, I am afraid the Secretary of State for Air has some bad news to impart to your Lordships and, therefore, to put myself in order, I will formally ask him if he has any news as to the non-stop flight to Africa?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR AIR (LORD THOMSON)

My Lords, I am sorry to say I have just heard that the Fairey-Napier monoplane crashed 20 miles south of Tunis and both the occupants were killed. I have no further details. The report is undated, but that report comes from the British Consul-General at Tunis.
