HL Deb 17 May 1928 vol 71 c91
VISCOUNT HALDANE

My Lords, may I ask if the noble Earl who is leading the House at this moment can give us any information about the time of the Recess?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (THE EARL OF BIRKENHEAD)

My Lords, if it is convenient to your Lordships, the proposal of the Government would be that this House should adjourn on Thursday, the 24th of the present month, until Thursday, June 7. We shall invite your Lordships on our resumption of duty to sit as a habit upon Mondays, because we are hopeful that by accelerating some Bills there will be sufficient work in this House to occupy your Lordships.
