HL Deb 29 March 1928 vol 70 c696
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF DONOUGHMORE)

My Lords, with reference to the two Bills appearing first on the Notice Paper I beg to move the Motion standing in my name, that Standing Order No. 143 be dispensed with. That Order makes it necessary for certain Bills to be deposited for three days at certain public Departments before the Third Reading stage but as the normal time for the three days is to expire to-morrow, and as your Lordships are adjourning for Easter sooner than some people anticipated, I do not think you will do anything wrong in suspending the Order. These Bills, of course, are still subject to the usual stages in another place.

Moved, That Standing Order No. 143 be considered in order to its being dispensed with in respect of the said Bills, and that the Bills be now read 3a.—(The Earl of Donoughmore.)

On Question, Motion agreed to: Bills read 3a accordingly, and passed, and sent to the Commons.
