§ Order of the Day for the Second Reading read.
§ THE EARL OF PLYMOUTHMy Lords, on behalf of my noble friend the Duke of Sutherland I beg to move that this Bill be now read a second time. The main purpose of the Bill is to correct a drafting error in the Agricultural Rates (Scotland) Act, 1926, which affects to a very considerable extent the amount of the agricultural rates grant payable to the county rating authorities in Scotland. This is the only real point of substance. I hope, therefore, the House will give this Bill a Second Reading forthwith.
§ Moved, That the Bill be now read 2a.—(The Earl of Plymouth.)
§ On Question, Bill read 2a and committed to a Committee of the Whole House.
§ Then (Standing Order No. XXXIX having been suspended) House in Committee: Bill reported without amendment: read 3a, and passed.
