HL Deb 09 July 1928 vol 71 c859

Clause 4, page 4, line 25, after ("premises") insert ("and may require any person whom he finds in or about the premises to give such information as may reasonably be demanded of him as to any name and address required by the officer for the purposes of enabling him to carry out his duties under this Act").

THE EARL OF STRADBROKE

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth agree with the Commons in their Amendment. The whole object of it is to give power to the officer of any authority to make an inquiry if he thinks that the eggs are being removed from the storage premises in an improper manner. The Amendment is limited to ascertaining the name and address of the person supposed to be so offending.

Moved, That this House doth agree with the Commons in the said Amendment.—(The Earl of Stradbroke.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
