§ LORD PARMOORMy Lords, before public business commences, I should like to ask the noble Marquess the Leader of the House whether he can give us any formal intimation as to the length of the Recess and when we are expected to be back in our places in this House after the adjournment?
§ THE MARQUESS OF SALISBURYAs your Lordships are aware, there is no business on the Paper for to-morrow. Therefore, I propose at the end of to-day's sitting to advise your Lordships to adjourn for the Recess. The Government propose that the Recess should last until January 22 next.
