HL Deb 05 December 1928 vol 72 c393
THE CHAIRMAN OF COMMITTEES (THE EARL OF DONOUGHMORE)

My Lords, I should like in two or three sentences to offer a word of explanation to those of your Lordships who are members of the House of Lords Offices Committee. The Committee is summoned for Thursday of next week, but since the summonses went out, owing to arrangements made by the Committee for Privileges, I find that it will be more convenient if your Lordships meet in the Moses Room on Wednesday, instead of Thursday, of next week. The Committee for Privileges sits on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and does not rise until four o'clock, and obviously it is rather difficult to get a Committee between four o'clock and a quarter past, especially as the Committee for Privileges does not always adjourn sharp to the minute. Nothing is going on all day in the Moses Room on Wednesday, and I thought it would be more convenient that we should meet there on Wednesday. I hope that it will not be inconvenient to any of your Lordships.

LORD OLIVIER

I feel sure that those Peers who are members of the Committee will appreciate the care which is taken to suit their convenience.
