HL Deb 29 March 1927 vol 66 c809
LORD PARMOOR

My Lords, on behalf of the Opposition I should like to tender our congratulations to the House and to the noble and learned Viscount on the Woolsack on his being able to be present with us again. We hope the accounts that we have heard of his complete restoration to health are perfectly accurate.

EARL BEAUCHAMP

My Lords, I should like to associate myself with what has been said by the noble and learned Lord. I can assure the noble and learned Viscount on the Woolsack that his return will meet with a hearty welcome in every quarter of the House. We hope that his health has been thoroughly re-established.

THE LORD CHANCELLOR (VISCOUNT CAVE)

My Lords, I am very grateful to the two noble Lords for what they have said and I should like to take this opportunity of stating to the House with how much regret, and real reluctance I have been absent from the sittings of the House and from my duties for so long. If anything of the same kind should happen again I assure the House that it will be through no fault of my own. May I also express my thanks to the noble Earl the Lord Chairman, who during my absence has presided over your Lordships' deliberations?
