HL Deb 27 July 1927 vol 68 cc939-40

Order of the Day for the Third Reading read.

LORD BLEDISLOE

My Lords, in moving the Third Reading of this Bill I desire to acquaint the House that I have it in command from His Majesty to in form the House that His Majesty has given his consent to the contents of this Bill. I beg to move.

Moved, That the Bill be now read 3a.—(Lord Bledisloe.)

On Question, Bill read 3a.

Title:

An Act to incorporate the Commissioners of Crown Lands; to amend the Law relating to the powers and duties of the said Commissioners in respect of the possessions and land revenues of the Crown under their management; to provide for the transfer to the London and Gloucester Diocesan Boards of Finance, respectively, of certain moneys held by the said Commissioners for ecclesiastical purposes in those dioceses; and for purposes connected with the matters aforesaid.

LORD BLEDISLOE moved, in the Title, to leave out "London and Gloucester Diocesan Boards of Finance, respectively, of certain moneys held by the said Commissioners for ecclesiastical purposes in those dioceses," and to insert "Gloucester Diocesan Board of Finance of certain moneys held by the said Commissioners for ecclesiastical purposes in that diocese." The noble Lord said: This is a purely drafting Amendment consequent on the omission in another place of a clause in the Bill which dealt with the transference to the London Diocesan Board of Finance of certain funds held in trust by the Commissioners of Crown Lands.

Amendment moved— In the Title, leave out ("London and Gloucester Diocesan Boards of Finance, respectively, of certain moneys held by the said Commissioners for ecclesiastical purposes in those dioceses") and insert ("Gloucester Diocesan Board of Finance of certain moneys held by the said Commissioners for ecclesiastical purposes in that diocese").—(Lord Bledisloe.)

On Question, Amendment agreed to.

Bill passed, and returned to the Commons.
