ROTHERHAM CORPORATION (TROLLEY VEHICLES) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CORPORATION (TROLLEY VEHICLES) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

DARLINGTON CORPORATION TROLLEY VEHICLES (ADDITIONAL ROUTES) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

ST. HELENS CORPORATION (TROLLEY VEHICLES) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

MAIDSTONE CORPORATION (TROLLEY VEHICLES) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

GRAVESEND, ROSHERVILLE AND NORTHFLEET TRAMWAYS (AMENDMENT) PROVISIONAL ORDER BILL.

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (VISCOUNT PEEL)

My Lords, in moving the Motion which stands on the Order Paper in my name in reference to these Bills, I should like to explain the reason for this. Negotiations have been going on—rather long negotiations in these cases—and at last agreement has been reached between the parties, and I would suggest that in the public interest these Bills should be read a second time.

Moved, That the Order made on the 24th day of March last, "That no Provisional Order Confirmation Bill brought from the House of Commons shall be read a second time after Tuesday the 28th of June next," be dispensed with, and that the Bills be now read 2a.—(Viscount Peel.)

LORD PARMOOR

There can be no objection whatever to this.

On Question, Motion agreed to, and Bills read 2a accordingly.
