§ THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (VISCOUNT PEEL)My Lords, in moving the Motion which stands on the Order Paper in my name in reference to these Bills, I should like to explain the reason for this. Negotiations have been going on—rather long negotiations in these cases—and at last agreement has been reached between the parties, and I would suggest that in the public interest these Bills should be read a second time.
§ Moved, That the Order made on the 24th day of March last, "That no Provisional Order Confirmation Bill brought from the House of Commons shall be read a second time after Tuesday the 28th of June next," be dispensed with, and that the Bills be now read 2a.—(Viscount Peel.)
§ LORD PARMOORThere can be no objection whatever to this.
§ On Question, Motion agreed to, and Bills read 2a accordingly.
