HL Deb 22 December 1927 vol 69 c1278

Clause 7, page 6, line 3, at end insert the following new subsection:— (4) For the purposes of the powers of the Minister under the provisions of this section, the Minister may at all reasonable times inspect any nursing home to which this section applies, and may refuse exemption or withdraw an exemption on the ground that as regards the home the provisions of paragraphs (a), (b) or (e) of the proviso to subsection (3) of Section 1 of this Act are not complied with.

The Commons disagree to this Amendment for the following reason:— Because it involves responsibility for the conduct of Christian Science Houses upon the Minister of Health, which is not desirable.

VISCOUNT GAGE

My Lords, I beg to move that this House doth not insist on the said Amendment.

Moved, That this House doth not insist on the said Amendment.—(Viscount Gage.)

On Question, Motion agreed to.
